Buttercup was our first Maine Coon
Polydactyl. We wanted a Poly and in our search found her as well
as another Maine Coon adult cat, Hanna. It only seemed right that
the two should come here together, so our adventure with our first Maine
Coons started.
Originally we had no intentions of showing cats but it seemed that one
thing led to another and before we knew it we were in the show
ring. It must be noted that although she is a registered Maine
Coon, the Polydactyls can only be shown as House Hold Pets or in New
Traits. No Championship classes. This was not a deterrent
and off we went. Our first show was a great learning experience,
one we are not soon to forget. Buttercup was not in the least
impressed but stoically went along. After a few more shows she
improved and we did also. As time went along though, it was
apparent that Buttercup did not like the life of a show cat and
preferred to stay home. Her show career spanned Ontario, Canada
and into the United States. She was pretty proud of her unique
toes and did well for her time in the ring.

Buttercup retired from her show career on a high note, receiving a
Regional Award in HHP with CCA, Canadian Cat Association. She now
enjoys a life of leisure as a pampered family member.
